#ScentSunday - Flowers in the Sun

This weeks #ScentSunday is the wonderfully bright Flowers in the Sun Yankee Candle. This fragrance really brings the joy of a sunny summers stroll indoors. I've written about this fragrance when I initially reviewed the Warm Summer Nights Yankee Candle TSV on QVC. (You can see that review HERE).

This is such a pretty scent and so many people have commented on how much they have loved this floral fragrance, and that it almost gives a warming feeling to the room. (Maybe that's the added sunshine in the jar).

The wax is such a gorgeous pastel yellow which really does help brighten up the room. I absolutely love the picture on the label and hope that my own attempt has done it justice.

Flowers in the Sun is available HERE.

Christmas Holiday Portrait Collection - QVC Exclusive

Christmas really has come early for all the fandles out there! I've received one of the two collections that I ordered from QVC that were shown during their fantastic Christmas In July event.

As a collector, I was really excited to see all the amazing USA fragrances and rare labels that featured throughout the day. QVC have featured so many fragrances with the USA portrait label jars lately (which are USA outlet exclusives) so I HAD to order the Christmas Holiday collection for my treasure wall. The smell was almost secondary at the time, but after having my first sniff of them... WOW! What a set! Each fragrance is so different to the next, but each are distinctly festive.

Holiday Plum
Gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of Black Plum Blossom (so much so that I'm burning it right now!) and I was hoping that there would be similarities between the two. Holiday Plum is Black Plum Blossom's sweeter sister. The plum notes are there with a delicious sweetness. If you're familiar with Sugared Apple, then you'll know how Yankee Candle do sugary scents so well. This is not a rich, deep fragrance like it's sister, but a delicious, sweet scent. I think it also has a very subtle cinnamon tone too which really gives it that festive twist.

Bayberry
I have to admit, I'm not 100% sure what bayberry smells like, but as soon as I sniffed this candle, I smelt Christmas straight away. A real pine fragrance really makes this smell as if you have a Christmas tree in the room with you. There's a real spiciness to it too. This is probably the most layered fragrance out of the three with so many notes. the description lists the fragrance as a blend of pine, fir, laurel, bayberry, frankincense and myrrh.

Chocolate Peppermint
Oh my word what a fragrance! I expected this one to be very rich, but it has an icy freshness to it. The peppermint is so bold and immediately hits you. The chocolate element is so subtle but really rounds off the fragrance. Dare I say that this one can easily be compared to an After Eight mint. But c'mon, who doesn't enjoy them at Christmas?!

The set is available from the QVC UK website HERE for £29.94 and is also available on three easy payments of £9.98. I can't recommend this set enough. I just love how each candle is so distinct, but together make a perfect set.

Christmas in July 2016

Happy Christmas in July (eve)  fandles! 25th July is an exciting day in Yankee Candle land, as we're being treated to not one, but TWO dedicated hours on QVC with the fab Steven at both 10am and 11pm (which means we're going to get a One Time Only, which is the perfect Summer meets Santa combo... Details below!) It's also very likely we'll get some Yankee's popping up throughout the day too. If you've been waiting for Scenterpiece MeltCups, loved the new portrait style labels that featured in the Yankee Candle Anniversary shows, you're a fan of USA exclusives, or crazy for rare labels, then Christmas definitely has come early for you... A sneak preview of what new sets will be available is listed below.

Yankee Candle do Christmas fragrances so, so, so well. Their true to life fragrances really do come to life with rich spicy tones, fresh icy scents and sweet freshly-baked cake aromas. My very first Yankee Candle was the (now retired) Christmas Cupcake. It was a gift from mummy fandle, I fell in love with the sweet and delicious fragrance, so much so that years later I'm still hooked!

One thing I love about Yankee Candle's festive fragrances is that a lot of them really can be burned all year round. (Snowflake Cookie is currently sat in my bedroom and I have enjoyed burning it a lot recently even though we're in the middle of summer). I personally wouldn't burn the classic festive Yankee fragrance Red Apple Wreath at any other time than Christmas though, as an apple and cinnamon combination is the definition of Christmas to me.

The lovely Steven Corfield has been dropping teasers on Twitter which has been sending fandles into overdrive. I might have had some inside information about some of the candles that will be featured, and these include some fandle favourites.

Oud Oasis and Moroccan Argan Oil are set to make appearances throughout the day in a new melt cup set (along with four other fragrances). These scents are so rich and spicy, and not typically festive fragrances, but the depth and richness of these are ideal to accompany other Christmas classics such as the heady Frankincense (which is also going to make an appearance in jar format). One of mummy fandles favourites is Moroccan Argan Oil and she burns this all year round. If you like your real deep exotic scents, you'll love these.

There's been so many fabulous festive scents throughout the years. My personal favourites are Red Apple Wreath and Christmas Eve. Other fandle favourites include: Icicles, Sparkling Snow, Snow in Love, Sparkling Cinnamon, Cranberry Ice... the list could go on. If you love these fragrances and other Christmas classics, then definitely tune in as you won't be disappointed...

I don't like to post spoilers, but these have been listed on the QVC website today. So, if you are ready to see what treats you can look forward to seeing? Check out below for an early Christmas present...

I'm so excited about the One Time Only. check it out below. I absolutely love rare labels, especially USA exclusives. How fab is this set? The perfect Christmas in July set. A mixture of sunshine and sweet christmasy treats!

This weeks #ScentSunday is the fresh and breezy, Windblown. This Yankee Candle is perfect for these summer days. It has a real sea air fragrance to it, not too dissimilar to Wild Sea Grass. Currently a Special Appearance here in the UK. I'm absolutely blown away by this one!

#ScentSunday Fluffy Towels

Today has been a gorgeous summer's day and I've spent it at home with loved ones; basking in the sun and enjoying spending time in our garden. I love nothing more than relaxing at home and there's definitely nothing better than enjoying a cosy fragrance that makes you feel all homely.

Today's #ScentSunday is the classic Yankee Candle fragrance Fluffy Towels. This fan favourite instantly makes you feel at home and puts a smile on your face. Such a fresh scent, I'd recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a clean and crisp fragrance. If you like Baby Powder or Clean Cotton, then you'll love Fluffy Towels.

Fluffy Towels is available HERE at the Yankee Candle Website.

#ScentSunday this week is the brand new Fruit Salad Special Appearance Yankee Candle. Launched in the UK at the beginning of July, this sweet'n'juicy scent is so fruity that every sniff is full of goodness. Perfect for brightening up any day, Fruit Salad is fantastic for those lazy summer days.

Fruit Salad is a USA fragrance and a limited run here in the UK. It will be available through the Yankee Candle website soon. I picked mine up from QVC along with two other gorgeous Special Appearances.

What are your thoughts on Fruit Salad? Does it make you feel fruity?

New look. Same us.

"New look. Same us. Refined, refreshed yet still the same great quality & fragrance you love"

Today the Yankee Candle USA twitter account tweeted a small tweet, but with a big message. Yankee Candle has changed. Not their fragrance, not their quality, not even their prices, but their signature label and logo. Gone is the classic landscape image and serif font, instead, a chic, sleek and contemporary portrait label has replaced it with a modern font and new logo.

There has been months of debate and discussion over this within many fandle groups after whispers turned to rumours and rumours turned to gossip. It has actually caused quite the stir with fandles expressing every emotion imaginable from delight to anger. But why has this caused such a stir? Many of you may be thinking "but I buy Yankee Candles for their gorgeous scent and longevity, what does it matter?" Well, for lots of avid collectors, the change brings with it, well, exactly that. change.

For many fandles who have a large collection of Yankees, or even a treasure wall, the change will have a huge impact on their displays, myself included. Whether you've a collection of 20, 200 or 500+ (yes many collectors have hit these heights) how do you integrate the new design - and do you at all?

The update applies to all Yankee products in the USA, not just large jar labels. You can see how well the label design works for the longer reed diffuser products but on the jars is quite a big step away from the square labels and we've now got a smaller visual of the scent.

I've seen on many sites news that Yankee Candle Europe have no immediate plans to alter their labels, but the new design will quite possibly creep onto special appearances and other limited editions.

Personally, I quite like the new labels, I think they could take Yankee Candles to a new audience, and the chic look really freshens up the brand and brought it scent first into a generation where style is everything. I'll be honest and admit that I do agree with those who have a large collection, I don't want my display to change, but I just think we all need to remember, this is not the first time Yankee have changed their labels (black band anyone?) the changes along Yankee's impressive lifespan have made it into the brand it is today. I'd also point out that we're a house divided, one for the new labels and one very much against (for now) - I wouldn't be surprised if it's something fandles will disagree over for quite some time.

Refined and refreshed, Yankee Candle are entering into a new era, and I will be grabbing my wick trimmer in excitement, and illuma-lid with anticipation until I see my first new label.

What do you think to the new labels? Let me know in the comments box below.

Yankee Candle new Warm Summer Nights range and a QVC TSV bargain!

Hey Fandles, great news, a brand new Yankee Candle range called Warm Summer Nights has launched this weekend, it's scrumptious - AND from midnight 4th July the folks at QVC are bringing us a Yankee Candle TSV featuring the new scents.

I've been able to give you a sneak peek at the TSV fragrances and I've been busy snapping some new pics with the new scents (below), which I hope you'll enjoy.

What's in the TSV (Today's Special Value)?

Sneak peek at the QVC TSV Warm Summer Nights Hamper

The TSV features a 39 piece votive hamper set for just £29.98 that will have votives and tealights from the whole collection, votive holders PLUS an exclusive colourful summer hamper - these are always immensely popular with QVC viewers. Alert: There's also an Auto Delivery deal available on this TSV!
There are 5 shows with the lovely Rosa Speyer (Yankee Candle Brand Ambassador) over the course of the day starting at midnight - I will be tuning in with a cuppa and a biccie, oh and my new Scenterpiece melt warmer on the go.

So what's in the Warm Summer Nights range?

Four deliciously divine scents:

Flowers in the Sun
Passion Fruit Martini
Sunset Breeze
Dreamy Summer Nights
I am loving this new launch, it's a sweet and dreamy selection of summer scents. It's a collection where you can honestly say you love each one.

Flowers in the Sun is a sweet floral, lots of blossom scents, gives a medium throw. Each time I've tried it I've been reminded of My Serenity and Golden Sands.

Passion Fruit Martini is definitely the standout fragrance as it packs such a sweet punch that's so true to life. It won't be to all tastes, it really is quite strong but that's a plus for me as everyone has noticed it this week when I've had it burning. A must for your cocktail parties this summer.

Sunset Breeze is totally tropical, lots of pineapple and mango, reminded me of Mango Peach Salsa but a fresher version as if it's been mixed with Pink Sands. Initially my favourite on cold sniff, but after burning I'm leaning towards the final of the fab four...

Dreamy Summer Nights is the headiest of the collection, a striking moonlight black with a glisten in the wax. It's a really creamy mix of vanilla and floral with some woodier base notes, making this perfect for relaxing on a warm summer night. Love love love this one.

Worth noting fandles, these are all previously USA exclusives that European fandles have been eager to get their hands on. So fans of special appearances will be over the moon to see this collection arriving in the UK in time for Summer.

Here's an official promo video from Yankee Candle for the new range, a nice chance to see the large jar versions.

Thank you to Yankee Candle for kindly giving me the chance to try out these fragrances a few days ahead of launch. All views in this post are my own, I really did enjoy these and I hope you do too.

Make sure you head on over to QVC now to snap up the TSV bargain before it sells out. My Sky box is tuned in to channel 650 eager to see what treats pop up.

Have you tried the new collection? Which is your favourite? Let me know in the comments section below.

#ScentSunday - First Kiss

#ScentSunday is something I do every Sunday and is a chance for me to post a new picture of one of the Yankee Candles in my collection (all under one hashtag too so all the photos are easy to find).
I try to bring each scent to life in the picture and, of course, try make it as pretty as possible... So, without further ado, this week's #ScentSunday is the cute, pretty (and even fizzy) First Kiss. This was part of Yankee's 2012 limited edition Summer Love collection.

I don't have a great deal of information on this one as it was a gift from mummy fandle. But what I can tell you is I absolutely love it! So sherberty and sweet with a real punch to it. It's got a flat top lid too which makes it extra special. This is definitely a VHTF candle and would set you back a fair few pennies on eBay.

Are you one of the lucky ones with candles from this cute collection? Let me know in the comments below.

Bargains galore fandles...our latest haul

July has well and truly arrived and brought with it some rather unpredictable weather but don't let it be a washout because it's also showering us with plenty of Yankee Candle bargains! So carry on reading for hints on where to find the best deals right now and take a look at some of the things I grabbed in my weekend haul...

Let's start with Yankee Candle themselves:

Outlet bargains! 2x Special Appearances and 2x half price jars.
Yankee Candle outlet stores have some cracking offers at the moment which includes selected half price large jars from the current range. They also had some special appearances large jars (these are hard to find, typically a USA fragrance that's brought over for a limited period) at just £10 which is crazy good value.

Keep your eyes peeled for Christmas bargains (yes it's only July but go with it) as outlets always have amazing priced Christmas stock. A particular fave are the World Journeys range, just £5 for a double wick pillar - Christmas in Paris and Italian Christmas Biscotti are standout fragrances for me.

Best outlets?...Boundary Mill and McArthur Glen.

Yankeecandle.co.uk you'll find the big summer sale - accessories, votives, pillars, jars in multiple sizes and across lots of the range. Lots of the latest riviera escape accessories also heavily reduced.

Clintons online and in-store - but be quick!

Major bargain alert fandles. The lovely folk at Clintons have slashed Yankee prices by 50%
You can pick up some big discounts on all jar sizes, reed diffusers, votives, melts, glass melt warmers, the scentiments range and special gift sets PLUS Scenterpiece which have been reduced from £27.99 to just £9.99

Scenterpiece £9.99 and cups £1.
Beach Flowers M £7.99 and S £3.99
They have a nice selection to chose from (including retired fragrances) and I found the best deals in-store.

Fandles are quick to grab bargains so don't delay, the large jars disappear quickly and I wouldn't expect the Scenterpiece electric melt warmers to stay on shelves for long.

Home Bargains - Simply Home spectacular

Lot's of online chat this week about the bargains in HB stores, Yankee's 'Simply Home' range. If you've not heard of it, Simply Home is a value range that uses the same wax but a different blend and formulation of fragrance.

Large jars usually retail at £13 in Asda, Tesco and B&Q but at HB you can grab jars for just £3.99 right now! (As I don't have a store nearby I can't verify if they're large or medium, either way fab price). Here's the pic they tweeted this week.

Tip: Grab Blueberry Cheesecake if you can.

Where else should I check?

For general bargain hunting check out HotUKDeals, chuck 'Yankee Candle' into their search but be wary of when deals were posted, they expire quickly.

Always keep an eye on QVC as their large jar sets are usually well discounted and sometimes on interest-free easy payments. On their site now you can also find discounted festive accessory sets. And on Monday next week there's a 'Today's Special Value' which will be from the new range called Warm Summer Nights - if you come back on Monday you'll see my review of the new fragrances.

Fragrances of the month. Head online to Yankee, Clintons, House of Harris, Love Aroma and Temptation Gifts and look for their current fragrance of the month. These will typically be 25-30% off and across the full suite of products in that scent. Some of these sites will offer extra discounts if you sign up to their newsletters and offer flash sales/deals.

£9.99 large jars, both from Clintons

It's still number one... It's Top of the Yankees!

TYIF! (Thank Yankee it's Friday!) I hope everyone has got that Friday feeling and have a fab weekend planned. In true Flashback Friday style I thought I would do a Top of the Pops style post and countdown my top 5 most popular Instagram photos. So... It's Friday, it's still number one, it's Top of the Yankees!

Coming in at number 5 with 225 likes is the USA fragrance Catching Rays. This was released in the US earlier this year and was made available here in the UK in TSV bundle from QVC UK.

In at number 4 with 282 likes is the cute and sweet Bunny Cake. This retired favourite returned around Easter time as a Collector's Edition. It's currently on sale through the Yankee Candle site here.

Straight in at number 3 with 287 likes is a mixture of gorgeous Riviera Escape fragrances, but headed up by the delicious Summer Peach wax melt. What a fragrance! New this year as a spring release in Europe, this is such a true to life scent and has a really powerful throw. The Riviera Escape collection is still available. If you are wondering what the metal ring is, it's an Illuma-lid and an essential part of candle care. More on this in upcoming posts...

Just missing out on the top spot is one of my many Yankee hauls! A double delivery came from QVC and I was in Yankee heaven so just had to take a snap. Catching Rays makes its second appearance in the top 5, as this photo features the TSV mentioned earlier. This set also featured Market Blossoms and Bakery Air, two other USA fragrances released earlier this year.

Topping the charts at number one is my most popular photo to date (so popular it's been pinched by another account recently!) with 329 likes is Jelly Bean. This sweet, fun and zingy fragrance was also a welcome return at Easter as a Collector's Edition. If the lovely Mr Steven Corfield is reading this, I bet he will be happy with this one taking the top spot as I know this is one of his favourites.

Do you have a favourite? Let me know in the comments below. For all my other photos, don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
